Unfortunately there are some of us who do not live near a beach or can afford after the cost of the wedding to fly to a beach. I say just use the materials out there tikki bars, tikki torches, leis for the guests, seashells for favors or for placesettings, food ideas gallore. I say just not worry about the no beach and and create your own beach it can be done and done to fit your budget. We had a tropical-beach themed reception at home. We live in Michigan - nowhere near a tropical beach! But I was happy to bring a little bit of our wedding home in that way. Even if you're not getting married anywhere near a beach, I think a beach themed wedding reception is lovely. P.S. It'll be our 5 year anniversary this summer, and I want to have a tropical themed BBQ at our home to celebrate with some of our closest family and friends. Even if you’re not getting married anywhere near a beach, I think a beach themed wedding reception is lovely.
